> 26. And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
> 27. And Jesus said to them, “You will all fall away, for it is written, I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.
> 28. But after I am raised up, I will go before you to Galilee.”
> 29. Peter said to him, “Even though they all fall away, I will not.”
> 30. And Jesus said to him, “Truly, I tell you, this very night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.”
> 31. But he said emphatically, “If I must die with you, I will not deny you.” And they all said the same.
# Verse 26
#TODO Col 1:15? Get from Ray
Christ is hours away from the torture and what does he do. He sing hymns! How beautiful must have it been to hear his soul sing out in worship with him knowing what was to come.
God takes pleasure with hearing us sing out to him!
There is a lot of men that no longer sing in corporate worship. And yet we see here Christ is singing hymns.
Traditionally the after the Passover meal Psalms 116-118 were sung.
Let pray for freedom to sing, and let it be in pure worship.
#TODO Command to sing, get source from Ray
When we have a better understanding of out sin we have a better understanding of Gods grace, how could we not sing out his praise!
# Verse 27-28
Zack 13:7
How hard was it knowing that this had to happen to fulfill scripture but it would happen in his greatest hour of need? He knew this and yet still chose them to be his closest friends.
He knew the betrayal that was coming. We would never give those people another chance, but Christ told them I will see you in Galilee.
It is Christ glory to pass over our sins and to make us clean!
We speak truth in love, but lets give out brother and sisters in Christ compassion!
# Verse 29-31
What did Peter say when Christ asked him he thinks he is. "You are the messiah" [[Mark 8#29|Mark 8:29]] and here we see him deny him.
How bold was it for the disciples to tell Jesus that they are not going to do what he told them will happen.
Could it be that they thought that Christ was establishing his Kingdom and not realizing there was a First and Second coming, that they would have to die in some sort of battle?
There is also a lack of humility, why did they not stop and take heed to what Jesus was telling them.
--Proverbs16:8
1corn 10:12
We need to be in constant prayer, asking God to protect us from temptation.
Am I humble in my walk with Christ? Am I prideful of my walk with God?
