Mark 13:24-37
This is prophetic scripture. How do we study it? With most scriptures we can put our self into the story or clearly know the commands that we are being told to do. With this its hard because we are having to put a bunch of pieces together like a puzzle.
Today passage is talking about the second coming of Christ. This is being written about and to the Jews, the nation of Israel, not the Church.
24-25
This about the old heaven and earth passing away. All laws of physics are gone
26-27
Jesus is claiming to be the Messiah and claiming to be be God, with all of his power.
Many thought this was how the Messiah was going to come the first time.
28-29
This will change before the end. We will start to see them if we are watching
30-31
Generation: LSB clarifies race. So this is how the nation of Israel and the Church have parallel stories happening. Could also mean that the events happening will happen within one generation.
32
This is a hard passage.
Jesus may be speaking in the sense that when he became man he had to set aside some of his omnipotence
33-37
Be alert and be watchful!
For true believers we watch with anticipation not fear.
Are we eagerly waiting?
