Mark 13:1-23
Verses 1-2:
Talking about the temple. this is during the Herod remodel. Was finished in 63ad and then was destroyed in 70. Took 80 years to remodel.
The temple was burned and much of the gold was that lining the stone melted and flowed into the cracks. The roman wanted the gold and tore it down stone by stone.
Good things in out lives can be our worst idols. The jews began to "worship" temple not God who the temple was built for.
Verses 3-13:
We do not know when the end will come, we know that it will.
[!quote] Verse 13 "And you will be hated by all because of My name,, but the one who endures to the end, he will be saved"
Look at the disciples! They were scared during the crucifixion. They ended being some of the most influence people. Look at how they died!
Verses 14-23:
Abomination of Desolation: Antioxious put zeus in the temple, and sacrificed a pig This was so heinous that God had to put a stop to it. Daniel 11:31-32 This was fulfilled and Jesus is saying it will happen again! Daniel 12:11-13
- Do not be lead astray
- WE can not be lead away from where we are not already
- Be on your guard
- Some things don't pass the smell test
- The gospel must be proclaimed!
- Don't be anxious

- We must rely on the Holy Spirit
