The general title of the whole book, <a class="bibleref" title="Hos.1.1" href="/passage/?search=Hos.1.1">Hos. 1:1</a>. II. Some particular instructions which he was ordered to give to the people of God. 1. He must convince them of their sin in going a whoring from God, by marrying a wife of whoredoms, <a class="bibleref" title="Hos.1.2,Hos.1.3" href="/passage/?search=Hos.1.2,Hos.1.3"><span class="bibleref" title="Hos.1.2">Hos. 1:2</span>, <span class="bibleref" title="Hos.1.3">3</span></a>. 2. He must foretel the ruin coming upon them for their sin, in the names of his sons, which signified Gods disowning and abandoning them, <a class="bibleref" title="Hos.1.4-Hos.1.6,Hos.1.8,Hos.1.9" href="/passage/?search=Hos.1.4-Hos.1.6,Hos.1.8,Hos.1.9"><span class="bibleref" title="Hos.1.4-Hos.1.6">Hos. 1:4-6</span>, <span class="bibleref" title="Hos.1.8">8</span>, <span class="bibleref" title="Hos.1.9">9</span></a>. 3.
