ps 103:1-5, 10-15 reading Gen 4:1-7 # Grace Cain and Abel could have been twins. We see grace and a promise being fulfilled. hosea 8:7 When we sin, it will impact those around us, especially our children. What does it mean to sow Godliness? It means making sacrifices! Do I marvel at God grace in my life? # Worship 4-5 Here we see worship from 2 different hearts, a believing and unbelieving hear. Cain: He gave the fruit of the ground, some say the sacrifice was suppose to be a blood sacrifice. see gen 3:21. They may be some truth to that be we also see they Abel gave the first fruits. Abel: gave the firstborn of the flock and of their fat portions. Hey is giving the best of the best. It took time to prepare to give to the Lord. Hebrew 11:4 One is checking a box, the other is sacrificing. It reveals their heart. There is no evidence of love or preparation Cain's offering was an act of false worship. What do our lives say by our acts of worship. He refused to come to God in God's way. He rejected God's way and God rejected him. "They honor me with their lips but their hearts are far from me" - Jesus, quoting Isaiah #TODO How can you please God when you don't know what he says! # Mercy "countenance fallen" : means enraged. God, was soooooo merciful with Cain. v7 is nothing be God showing mercy towards Cain. Eph 2:1-5 We are no better than Cain. BUT GOD!!!! We need to remember how merciful God is towards us! rom 10:9 Is my life truly reflective of true worship?
